Willis G. Spry

Willis G. Spry, 76 of Dingess, WV departed this life Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born August 29, 1943 at Dingess to the late Carlos and Polly Spry. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Carlos Spry Jr. and Curly Spry; sisters, Lorene Spry Canterbury and Gracie Spry; son, Curly Edward Spry. Willis was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War with the 7th Calvary. He was a member of the Mudfork Freewill Baptist Church and he was a graduate of Lenore High School. He is survived by his wife, Mary Spry; son, Willis (Beverly) Donald Spry; daughters, Loretta (Benjamin) Ubbink and Susan (Richard) Goff; brothers, Clifford (Shelia) Spry and Marvin Spry; 3 grandchildren, Brittany Spry, Gregory Spry, and Joshua David Spry; and great-granddaughter, Abbigail Rose Spry. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday October 30, 2019 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. David McCloud, Greg Taylor, and Rev. Elbert Collins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Spry-Kirk Cemetery at Dingess. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
