Willie Emmett Adkins

Willie Emmett Adkins 84 of Blair departed this life Wednesday May 20, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 15, 1924 at Ethel. He was the son of the late Casey and Leota Jackson Adkins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Eliza Mae Adkins in September 1983, One Sister Almeda Hager and Six Brothers: Oren (Chubby), Edward, Jess, Delmar and Everett Adkins and Ezra Smith. Willie worked at Howard Price Construction and also about 15 years at Carroll's, Inc. at Mt. Gay. He enjoyed working in his yard, hunting, gin seng and going to Walmart once a week to meet and greet friends and relatives. Survivors include Two Sons: Emmett Ray and special daughter-in-law Mary Jane Adkins of Earling and Randy Lee Adkins of Blair, Two Sisters: Rena Hager of Battle Creek, Michigan and Lorine McNeely of Sharples and One Brother: Casey Adkins Jr. of Danville, a garanddaughter and a host of loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday May 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park at Madison. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday May 22, 2009 at James Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Bobby White, Brian Kinder, Jerry Dingess, Paul Baldwin, Jessie Baldwin and Stanley Wells.
