William Bayless

William “Bill” Bayless, 74 of Crooked Creek, WV departed this life Sunday June 30, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center at Lexington, KY. He was born September 20, 1944 at Huntington, WV to the late Ronald Earl and Ruby Scaggs Bayless. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Patty Connors; and nephew, Patrick Connors. Bill was a US Air Force Veteran and a retired surface coal miner and heavy equipment operator. He retired from Arch Coal. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of McConnel and he loved his church family. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Blankenship) Bayless; son, Jimmy Bayless; grandson Austin Bayless; sister, Linda Marsh; ex-daughter-in-law, Millie Collins; special family members, Jeremy Miller and Britney Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday July 3, 2019 in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with Rev. John Godby officiating. Burial will follow.
