Verna McCallister

Verna Rosalee Ball Tabor McCallister 68 of White’s Addition, WV departed this life to be with Lord Jesus on Wednesday October 28, 2009 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital after a long illness. She was born January 3, 1941 at Omar, WV she was the daughter of the late Cecil Woodrow Ball and Louise Ball of Verdunville. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Cecil Woodrow Ball Jr., Larry Thomas Ball and Ronald Gene Ball. Those left to cherish her precious memory include her mother Louise Scaggs Ball, one sister Freda B. Frye of Elyria, Ohio, five children James D. Tabor, Jr. (Phiriya) of Radcliff, Ky., Mark Tabor of Madison, Verna Hill of White’s Addition, Cecil Edward (Eddie) Tabor of White’s Addition and Sherry Ball Dahmer (Kevin) of Lebanon, Ohio. Twelve grandchildren: Singha Kaewkambong, Boonsong Kaewkambong, Suriyong Kaewkambong, Phiriya Rosalee (Dere) Tabor, Mark James Tabor, Nancy Rosemarie Tabor, Hiram Hill, Raelina Rose Hill, Justin Klein, Cecil Edward Tabor II, Bryce Dahmer and Braeden Dahmer. One great grandchild Alexis Tunnel, special niece LaDonna Wagnor (Richie, Drew, Ryan and Will) of Germany, special nephew Ernie Watts, Jr. (Christie and Blakelei), special friends Brett Browning, Josh Curry, Justin Marcum and a host of friends. Verna (Rose) was a retired school teacher who loved the Lord and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed sewing/quilting and reading the Bible and loved roses of every color. Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at James Funeral Home at Aracoma. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday November 2, 2009 at James Funeral Home with Reverand John Godby officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
