Thomas F. White, 78, of Verdunville, departed this life Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
Born January 22, 1937 at Pecks Mill, he was the son of the late Troy White and Elva Richards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Orie Richards.
He graduated from Logan High School in 1954.
He was a retired truck driver for Petroleum Products for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sitting on the front porch and eating dinner with his wife at Parkway Drive-in.
He was a faithful member of the West Logan Church of God.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Audrey; one daughter, Andrea (Ralph) Hager of Verdunville; one son, Dr. Thomas (Vicki) White of Charleston; one brother, Lloyd White of Elkhart, Indiana; one sister, Helen Drakos of Mill Creek; four grandchildren: Amber (Jason) Wiley of Verdunville, Justin (Jessica) Hager of Pecks Mill, Andrew Gush of Lewisburg, and Zachary White of Charleston; five great-grandchildren: Ally Wiley, Dakota Wiley, Chloe Hager, Lily Hager, and Liam Hager; a very special friend, Donald Queen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the James Funeral Home Chapel in Logan. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Godby. Tommy will be carried to rest by Justin Hager, Jason Wiley, Timmy Mendez, Nick Farley, James Rice, Bill Craddock, and head pallbearer Donald Queen. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
The family would like to thank Dr. Moushmoush, Dr. Hafer, Dr. Harpold, and the nursing staff in the PCU and OR at St. Francis Hospital as well as the staff at Hubbard Hospice House West in Charleston.
