Tivis Ray Maynard

Our Beloved son, brother, dad and uncle Ray Maynard of Whitman, WV has left this life and entered into new life to his heavenly home on May 10, 2022. Ray was born June 16, 1968 to his surviving parents, Rita Nadine Cartrette and Tivis Martin Maynard.

Ray was preceded in death by his loving son "Zachary Ray Maynard" who are now rejoicing together!

He was an artist at heart. Absolutely loved playing guitar. He passed down this trait to his son Zac and his nephew Ryan Mullins; which together they would jam out all day! Anytime friends or family were around, he made a point to entertain with his artistic charms. Among the many tunes played, everyone could not help but join in when he started playing and singing. His music was his go to!

He loved spending time with his family, finding  a good fishing spot and always willing to do whatever was needed or asked of him with a sacrificial heart. He loved to create an atmosphere that welcomed everyone. Loved working on projects that included fixing up cars, motorcycles and many other things.

No longer exhausted from the harsh disease that called him home, he handed HIS torch over to his famly to carry on! His life will forever be cherished!

He is also survived by immediate family members, Brooks & Windy Maynard, Brooke Hope Maynard, Heather & Anthony Worrel and Skye Worrel. Donna Mullins & Alvin Dowda, Ryan Mullins & Jamie Vaughn, Zaidyn Mullins and Bella Vaughn. Kara Mullins, Lauren Mullins, Elizabeth Mullins, Keith Mullins and Kimberly Ann Sartin.

So many more extended family members and friends that he loved so much-Thank you all for being a part of his life.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Joaquin Ooten officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the funeral home.
