Thurman Ray Belcher, 80 of Logan, WV went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Danville, WV.
He was born April 28, 1945 in Logan to the late Charle and Violet (Lowe) Belcher. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Erman Belcher, Leroy Belcher, Auther Belcher, and Odell Belcher; 3 sisters, Mary Ferguson, Bertha Anderson, and Dorothy Farmer.
Thurman was a coal miner for Guyan Eagle for nearly 8 years and also worked as a security guard for about 20 years for the Logan County Park Board and Logan High School.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda (Miller) Belcher; his children, Violet “Jeannie” Williams (Nathan) of Logan; Diane Flynn (Matt) of Florida; Danny Miller (Darlene) of Wilkinson; grandchildren, Danyelle Miller, Deanna Miller, Cody Williams, Conner Williams, Christopher Williams, Kimberly Whitt (Jeffrey), all of Logan; Ashley, Becky, and Nicole all of Florida; and brother, Herman Belcher. He is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Scottie Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Guyan Memorial Gardens at Chapmanville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Danny Miller, Cody Williams, Connor Williams, Christopher Williams, Nathan Williams, and Jacob Facemyer.
