Thomas Bryan Marcum, 80, of Holden, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Tom was born on July 15, 1946, to the late Elwood and Aleta Marcum. He was a Christ-loving man and a member of the Freemasons. Tom had many careers, including working as a coal miner, truck driver, and a federal mine inspector for the mines. He was also a member of the National Guard.
During his free time, you could find him fishing, supporting his UK teams, hosting Sunday dinners, and spending time with his loved ones. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his father, Elwood Marcum; sister, Carolyn Lackey; wife, Edna Gail Marcum; and Little Jack, the Jack Russell.
Survivors include his mother, Aleta Marcum; wife, Karen Marcum; brothers, Ed (Lora) Marcum and J.D. (Darlene) Marcum; daughter, Amy (Tony) Jeffrey; son, Bryan Marcum; seven grandchildren, Peyton (Tyler) Lendearo, Abigail (Jacob) Vinson, Elyana Bailey (Hunter), Ariel (Cody) Mullins, Bryanna Marcum, Joseph Marcum, and Wyatt Jeffrey; and nine great-grandchildren, Fiona Lendearo, Jaxxon Marcum, Mason Marcum, Brenna Vinson, Leo Lendearo, Julian Mullins, Eli Bailey, Indy Mullins, and Tommi Vinson.
He is also survived by many other family members and friends, whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted at James Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The wake will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. Rev. James Fortune will be officiating.
Burial will follow the funeral at Highland Memorial Gardens in Chapmanville, WV.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Marcum, Tony Jeffrey, Wyatt Jeffrey, Jacob Vinson, John Marcum, and Cody Mullins.
