Thomas Andrew Adkins

Thomas Andrew Adkins “Tommy”, 77 departed his earthly home on November 4, 2026, and has been reunited with his son David, and other family that has passed before him. 

Tommy was born January 19, 1949, to the late Carl and Annie Adkins. Tommy worked for Hobet Mining Company and retired after his thirty years of service. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his wife, Margaret “Mom”, his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Teaching each of them some type of life lesson. One was to work hard and play later. He also enjoyed his cigars, pipe, peach rings and his cat Apollo. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother, one sister, one nephew, and his special son David. 

Tommy leaves behind his wife, Margaret Adkins “Mom” a marriage of sixty year. She was not only his wife, companion, or mom to his children, but his best friend. Tommy also leaves behind two sons, Carl “Tombo”, Tony (Chris). His grandkids, that love him and always said that he was their hero, Tony “Bub” (Sierra), Makayla “Peanut” (Ricky), Jordyn (Shawn), Mikey, Thomas Darrell, Allen, Kortni, LeeAnn, and many great grandkids. Tommy was a great husband, Dad, Popaw, and the best father-in-law. Loved by all that knew him, Tommy will be greatly missed. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2026, at James Funeral Home, Logan, WV, with Richard Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Henderson Cemetery, Henlawson, WV. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service, Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be his son, Tony, grandsons, Tony “Bub”, Thomas, Ricky, family friends Eric, Dylan.
