Mrs. Sylverine Martin Dingess, 80, of Henlawson, WV was born July 30, 1933 at Henlawson, WV. She was the daughter of the late Boss and Mae Martin of Henlawson. Our precious loved one departed this life on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Logan Regional Medical Center Logan, WV surrounded by her loving family at her bedside following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ocia Nelson of Peach Creek, WV; one brother, Dee Martin of Henlawson, WV; one sister-in-law Patty Martin of Chapmanville, WV; two sons-in-law: Charlie Burton of Whitman, WV and Donny Barrett of Huntington, WV; one niece Sherry Martin of Chesapeake, Ohio and one nephew Jody Toler of Chapmanville, WV. Those left to cherish her precious memory are her loving and devoted husband of 62 ½ years Arlis D. Dingess; three beloved and precious daughters: Candy Barrett of Huntington, WV, Vanessa (Paul) Estep of Peach Creek, WV, and Brenda Tedder of Godby Heights, WV; two loving and devoted sons: Rodney (Teresa) Dingess and Jerry (Nikki) Dingess, both of Henlawson, WV; seven grandsons: Joshua White of Charleston, WV, Rodney Allen Dingess of Henlawson, WV, Christopher (Jill) Dingess of Williamson, WV, Preston Chrislip of Godby Heights, WV, Eric Moon and Luke Jeremiah Dingess of Henlawson, WV, and Scott Barrett of Huntington, WV; one granddaughter, Jennifer Barrett of Myrtle Beach, SC; one great-granddaughter, Marley Brooke Dingess of Inez, KY; one great-grandson, Carter Barrett of Huntington, WV; one sister, Ida Mae (Lloyd) Belcher of Whitman, WV; five brothers: Chester “Buddy” (Jean) Martin of Chesapeake, OH, Clayton (Marsha) Martin of Greenup, KY, Clifford “Snooker” (Linda) Martin of Henlawson, WV, Roger “Butch” (Annette) Martin of Marshville, NC, and Harvey “Buster” (Ty) Martin of Pecks Mill, WV; one brother-in-law, Teddy J. Nelson of Peach Creek, WV; one sister-in-law, Betty Martin of Henlawson, WV. She is also survived by many other brothers-in law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends. Mrs. Dingess was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to her family. She will forever be loved and sadly missed by all her family. Pallbearers will be her family members. Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy J. Nelson, Ronnie J. Nelson, Michael Nelson, Lloyd Belcher, Earl White, Cleve Curry, and Roy Dingess. A celebration of life will be conducted on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home in Logan, WV with Pastor Joaquin Ooten officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday, July 7, 2014.
