Ruby Messer

Ruby Messer, 87, of Mt. Gay, WV passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan. Born December 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Macie Meeks. In addition to her parents, Ruby was also preceded in death by her husband, Golden Messer; a great-grandson, Brandon Lee Browning; three brothers: William (Bill) Meeks, Alfred Meeks, and Denver Meeks; and a sister, Goldie (Noah) Messer. Those left to cherish her memories are one daughter, Gloria Jean (James) Hurley; three grandchildren: Angela (Chad) Evans, Jeanie (Chester) Stapleton, and Donald Lee Shepherd; five great-grandchildren: Jeremy (Shana) Shepherd, Jennifer Mileto, Whitney (Tyler) Nelson and Kaitlin Thorne; one great great-grandchild, Isabella Nelson; a special niece, Katrina Messer; her lifelong friend, Doris Ellis; and many other friends and family. A viewing will be held at James Funeral Home in Logan, WV on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 9 P.M. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the funeral home.
