Ronnie spent the majority of his life coaching Holden little league baseball, Holden midget league football, mentored many young men. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, and old timers basketball. But most of all he enjoyed fishing with his beloved wife and children. He spent his whole life working with co-owner Mike Cox and alongside Paul Vanaelst and Aj Pelkey at Gills Hydraulic’s in Whitman WV.
Ronnie is survived by his life partner Chris Mayhorn and children Krystal qEldridge and Josh Adkins of Omar WV, and Andy and Brandi Mayhorn of Kershaw SC, Damien and Raven Wheeler of Whitman WV, Asia and Rodney Short of Mudfork WV, and Zach Ellis of Whitman WV. Loved by his grandchildren: Tionna, Ashleigh, and Krysten of Krystal Eldridge. Braxton Mayhorn – Napier, Braxton, Jackson Tucker of Andy and Brandi Mayhorn. Lexi, Callie, and Chloe of Asia and Rodney Short. Rohan of Damien and Raven Wheeler. Also left to cherish his memories are his sisters Connie Cox of Virginia Beach, and Trish Crum of Chansey Wv, Darren Mayhorn of Whitman WV, and Jacob Mayhorn of New London Oh. Ronnie leaves a host of cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Akers-James Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Monday, March 4, 2024, also at the funeral home.
