Roger “Weazle” Watkins, 65, of Mud Fork, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Born June 24, 1949 in Logan, he was the son of the late Gordon and Nancy Watkins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Watkins; his sisters: Karlene Edmondson and Mary Blankenship; and his brothers: Eugene Watkins and Buster Ray Watkins. Roger was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the AMVETS of Logan. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Robert “Bobby” Watkins; three brothers: Gordon “Duke” (Kay) Watkins, Victor “Pee Wee” (Dinah) Watkins, and Donald “Coon” Watkins; four sisters: Ruth Watkins, Virginia Watkins-Davis, Nancy Gail Flemings, and Vivian (Tom) Zamow; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at James Funeral Home in Aracoma with Rev. Michael Hartwell officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Godby. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
