Robert "Bobby" Adkins

Robert “Bobby” Adkins, 72 of Mount Gay departed this life Friday, September 1 at his residence with family and friends by his bedside. He was born August 7 1945 in Logan County, WV to the late Odell and Ada Adkins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in by: his sister, Ada Elaine Maynard; and his brother, Russell Adkins. Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife of 32 years, Charlette “Peachie” Adkins; his children, Robert (Tammy) Adkins Jr.; Vicky Adkins Hale; David (Angie) Adkins; Bobbie Jo Adkins; and Tiffany Adkins; step-daughter, Celesta Vance; grandchildren, Josh (Kayla) Adkins; Jarod (Samantha) Adkins; Heather (John) Sammons; Tyler (Jennifer) Hale; Lexi Adkins; Kylee Jo Nelson; Kendyl Nelson; and Kyle Dean Rose; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Ezra (Anita) Adkins and Donald (Gladys) Adkins; sisters, Delores (Phillip) Balentine and Gail (Benny) Gullett. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday September 5 at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan with Stevie Cox and Mick Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Pallbearers will be: Josh Adkins, Randell Adkins, Randy Dingess, Eric Nelson, Mick Frye, Chris Flanagan, and Dillon Thompson.
