Phyllis "PG" Rankin Maynard

Phyllis “PG” Rankin Maynard, 84 of Mocksville, NC formerly of West Logan departed this life peacefully Sunday March 25, 2018 at Forsythe Medical Center at Winston-Salem, NC with her daughters by her side. PG was born July 17, 1933 to the late Warren and Florence Vinson Rankin. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: her sisters, Bernice Acord and Gloria Kerley; brothers-in-law, Jack Acord, Bob Kerley, Marvin Stanford, and Bill Maynard, sisters-in-law, Edna May Maynard and Betty Maynard. PG was a retired employee of C&P Telephone (Verizon) with 33 years of service. She was also employed by W.L. Robinson Insurance Agency and Crandall, Pyles, and Haviland Law Office. She is survived by her 5 daughters, Kristi Maynard, Kathi (Barry) Ramsey, Kortni (Kevin) Harper, all of Madison, WV, Karren (Darrell Ramsey) Maynard of Mocksville, NC, and Kandis (John) Banks of Grimesland, NC; grandchildren, LaMarr Maynard of Danville, WV, Kohle Maynard of St. Albans, WV, Camron (Shawna) Ramsey, Kyndall, Kelsey, and Keatyn Harper, all of Madison, WV; great-grandson, Kannon Jake Ramsey of Madison, WV; sister, Kaye (Alan) Kuzell of Bradenton, FL, brother-in-law, Darrell (Frances) Maynard of Charlottesville, VA; sisters-in-law, Jean Maynard of West Logan, WV and Jane Maynard of Huntington, WV; and a special friend Nancy Schram. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday March 31, 2018 at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan with Rev. John Godby officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Pallbearers will be: LaMarr Maynard, Camron Ramsey, Kevin Harper, David Hicks, Greg Maynard, Darren Maynard, and Mike Maynard. Honorary pallbearers will be: Barry Ramsey, Darnell Ramsey, Alan Kuzell, Randy Maynard, Cecil Davis, and Darrell Maynard. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday also at the funeral home.
