Phillip Dress

Phillip Dress, 62 of Cora passed away peacefully, February 16, 2026, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

Born October 19, 1962, in Logan he was the son of the late Pete and Myrle Dress. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his longtime companion, Rachel Gore, his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

Phillip worked at Highland Memory Gardens until he became disabled. He then devoted his life to taking care of his girlfriend until she passed. He loved riding four wheelers and playing video games. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and was a kind person who never met a stranger.

Those left to cherish his memory are his 2 fur babies, KK and Itybit; sisters, Tina (Carl) Varney and Toni Chafin, both of Logan; brothers, Ronald (Bev) Dress of Logan, Peter (Joyce) Dress of Georgia, and John Dress of Florida; a host of nieces and nephews that he claimed as his own, and a special niece, Meredith Glavris.

Honoring his wishes, his remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2026, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Stone officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Akers-James Funeral Home, Logan, WV.
