Peggy Ann Adkins

Peggy Ann Adkins, 78 of McConnell passed away April 14, 2016 at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was born March 27, 1938 in Logan the daughter of the late Jess and Flossie Hensley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, William (Bill) Adkins; sisters: Sandra (Holly) and Donnetta Hensley; and brother, Robert (Bobby) Hensley. Peggy was of the Baptist faith attending Mt. Carmel Baptist at City View Addition. Before her illness she was a mother, grandmother, homemaker, friend, and Christian. She also owned and operated a few small businesses. Peggy is survived by: her son, Frederick (Yonk) Vaughn of McConnell; her daughter, Donna Lou Vaughn of McConnell; grandson, Brenton Ray Vaughn (Shanna Fields) of McConnell; great-granddaughter, Christabella of McConnell; 3 brothers: Donald (Ernestine) Hensley of Logan; Joe (June) Hensley of Logan; Larry (Rocky) (Doris) Hensley of Logan; 2 sisters: Patricia Hobbs of Chapmanville; Janet (Luke) Burgess of McConnell; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Funeral services will be Saturday April 15, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at James Funeral Home in Logan with Rev. Keith McClung officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday also at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brookie Hensley, Donny Hensley, Trevor Hensley, Joey Hensley, and Sean Butcher, all nephews of Peggy.
