Patsy Emogene Smith 76 of Holden passed away Monday February 22, 2010 at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born September 1, 1933 in North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Crawford Bradshaw and Pauline Bradshaw Smith. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband William Earl Smith. Patsy was a longtime employee of Valley Market, Inc. She enjoyed her family and friends, especially her cat Sylvester and her chinese pug Maggie Mae. Those left to cherish her memory include 4 sons Jack (Diane) Hatfield of South Charleston, Danny (Tammy) Hatfield of Durham, N.C., Billy (Becky) Smith of Cow Creek and Ballard (Janice) Smith of McConnell, 3 daughters Pam (David) Maynard of Belo, Rose Lee Mahone of Holden with whom she made her home and friend Kenny Trent of Justice Addition and Sandy (Mike) Stout Wendell of Holden. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren Cristee Hatfield of St. Albans, Jr (Jennifer) Hatfield of South Charleston, Shannon, Angela, Dee, Danielle and Cameron Hatfield of Durham, N.C., Heather Doss of Wilmington, N.C., David and Natalie Maynard of Belo, Amanda Smith of Peach Creek, Lucky Jones of McConnell, Joseph Mahone and Will Turner of Holden. In addition to her grandchildren Patsy had 10 beautiful great grandchildren. Also surviving are her 2 sisters Leona (Don) Adkins of Ona and Rosalee Ragland of Milton and special friend and caregiver Cathy Moore of Crawley. Funeral services will be conducted Friday February 26, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Layton Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Thursday February 23, 2010 at James Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Trent, Mike Wendell, Joseph Mahone, Will Turner, JR Hatfield, Ronnie Tomblin and Sam Chapman.
