Patricia Ann Morris Burnette, 79 of Logan, West Virginia peacefully departed her loving family on Monday, March 7, 2022.
Patricia was born in Man, WV on May 14, 1942 to the late Ruby and James Morris. She was the oldest of four children and was preceded in death by her siblings James, Doris and Alda Rose.
She was the grand-daughter of the late Reverend Everett and Zida Wingler and the late James and Nancy Morris.
Patricia was married to the love of her life, the late Bobby Burnette Sr. on September 26, 1958 and was married for 56 years. They built a beautiful life together and were so very proud of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Patricia was an exceptional and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She cared deeply for her family, friends and church family. She was the central figure in the lives of so many. Many people considered her their surrogate mother and referenced her as Momma Pat.
Patricia was of the Christian faith and a faithful member of the Verdunville Church of God. She participated in many ministries such as the church choir, van ministry, bereavement and outreach ministries. She was known best for her love of cooking and feeding people. She helped establish the outreach kitchen at the Appalachian Dream Center at Holden, WV where many, many meals were prepared for shut ins and those less fortunate. Everyone especially loved her peanut butter, chocolate and black walnut fudge.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (Curtis) Ball of Lake, WV. Teresa (Michael) Dingess of Chapmanville, WV. Bobby Burnette Jr of Logan, WV. Steven (Angela) Burnette of Whitman, WV. Leslie (Anthony) Toppins of Logan, WV and special niece Kimberly (Timmy) Faine of Lundale, WV.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Amanda (Michael) Tomblin, Ashley (Patrick) Dingess, Monica (Joseph) Mendez, Eric (Allison) Burnette, Chase Burnette, Chad Burnette, Jared Burnette, Christian Toppins, Alexander Toppins and special great niece Courtney Hoosier.
And great grandchildren: Mikayla Tomblin, Landen Tomblin, Teagan Dingess, Cason Dingess, Palmer Burnette and special great-great nephew Silas Hoosier.
She is survived by a very special sister & brother in law, Connie and Bruce Jenkins of Mudfork, WV. As well as special friends Barbara Hager, Glenna Warrix, Jean Mullins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
A special thank you to Dr. Nicole Lackey-Dillon and staff for their outstanding care of our mother throughout the years and the doctors and nurses at Logan Regional Medical Center and Pikeville Medical Center for their outstanding care of our mother over the last two months.
Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Verdunville Church of God at Verdunville, WV and one hour prior to service. Funeral services will begin at noon on March 11, 2022 at the Verdunville Church of God with Reverend Michael Hartwell and Reverend Tim Mullins officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Pallbearers will be sons, sons in law and grandsons. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Akers-James Funeral Home in Aracoma, WV
