Oscar Dow Kirk

Oscar Dow Kirk,71, of City View passed away Saturday October 14, 2006 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was a disabled coal miner from H&J Coal Company and a member of the UMWA. He was born April 27, 1935, the son of the late Oscar C. and Anna Barker Kirk. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Vanessa Joy, one brother, Hansel. Four sisters; Annadell Ellis, Mamie White, Estel Kelemen and Mildred Trent. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Georgia (Fields) Kirk. One daughter, Estelle (Virgil) Meade of Dingess. Three sons; Clarence (Carol) Kirk of Oceana, Randall (Lola) Kirk of Lexington, NC and Oscar Lee of Logan. Fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He has one sister, Lillian (Arthur) Omori of Pflugerville, TX. Visitation will be Monday Ocotber 16 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M at James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday October 17 at 11:00 A.M at James Funeral Home with Pastor Curtis Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
