Nina Baisden, 86 of Verdunville departed this life Tuesday January 31 at her residence.
She was born November 16, 1930 in Kiahsville, WV to the late Claude and Mary Browning Maynard. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: her grandparents, George and Minnie Clay Browning, and one son Claude Edward Baisden Sr.; sister, Nona Maynard; brothers, Jack, Luther, and Leonard Maynard.
Mrs. Baisden worked for Island Creek Coal Company in the Main Holden 7 & 8 store, G.C. Murpheys, Shift Shoes, Sayer Borthers, Super S Discount, and at the Island Creek Coal Company Store #16 until it was destroyed by fire.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her husband of 68 years, John Ed Baisden Jr.; sons, Dennis Baisden and Gregory âDocâ Baisden; sister, Judy (Herbert) Topping of Wayne, WV; grandchildren, Sarah (Cebern) Blankenship of Holden, Stephanie (Charles) Bledsoe of Ona, WV, Claude Edward Baisden Jr. of Logan, and Chase Olson of Rochester, MN; great-grandchildren, Emily Dillon and Ashley Bledsoe of Ona, WV, Patricia and Luke Blankenship of Holden.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday February 4 at Akers-James Funeral Home in Logan with Rev. Barney Goins officiating. Burial will follow in the Alvis Maynard Cemetery in Genova, WV. Visitation will be from 6 â 9 p.m. Friday February 3 also at the funeral home.
