Mary Williams, 82, formerly of Holden departed this life, Sunday, April 12th at Prestonsburg Health Care Center, Prestonsburg KY.
She was born June 14, 1943, in Logan WV, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Hazel (Runyon) Webb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both her husbands, Kenneth Paul Collins, and Cecil Williams, one daughter, Tammy Collins Carter, one granddaughter, Shyann Akers, and three sisters, Ova McNeely, Eloise McNeely, Laura (Punky) Mink and her very special friend and traveling companion Shelby Sheppard.
She was a faithful and devoted member of the 21 Holden Memorial Free Will Baptist Church for more than 60 years where she served in various roles including Ladies Aide President. She was also a member of Cecil and the Golden Heirs Quartet.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Kenny Collins Jr. (Laura) of Charleston, WV, Cecil Williams, Jr. (Leigh Anne) of Banner, KY and Kenny (Bub) Akers (Tara) of Logan WV, Angela Allie (Mike) of Scott Depot, WV and Mary Anne Maynard (Jason) of Chapmanville, WV. Twelve grandchildren: Autumn Connor (Chase), Summer Collins, Landon and Levi Williams, Alyssa, Xander, Gunner, and Ryder Akers, Mikey, Jordan, and Lilly Allie, and Sawyer Belcher. One great grandson, Cato Connor. Two sisters: Loretta Frazier of North Royalton Ohio and Eleanor Duty (Donnie) of Pigeon Roost WV along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the 21 Holden Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Lacy Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Pall Bearers will be Kenny Collins, Cecil Williams, Jr., Kenny Akers, Mike Allie, Mikey Allie, Jordan Allie, Landon Williams, and Levi Williams.
Mary was blessed to have Shelli McNeely (great-niece) as her special caregiver and all the staff at the Prestonsburg Health Care Center. We as her family will never be able to thank them enough for all the comfort, love, care, and compassion they provided during some of mom’s most difficult days. We consider them angels on earth.
