Mary Lou Ward 76 of Holden was born February 6, 1935 a daughter of the late Edward Ray and Mary Edith Vance Stone. Mary Lou went home to be with the Lord on Saturday August 20, 2011 at Logan Regional Medical Center with her family and friends by her side. Also preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 57 years Carlos Bennie Ward, son Carlos Bennie (Big Boy) Ward, granddaughter Christy Neil and her brothers Ronald, Calvin, Eddie and Jerry Stone. She was a member of the # 7 Holden Freewill Baptist Church where she served as past Sunday School Teacher, VBS Director and Youth Leader for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Additional survivors include two daughters Debbie (Bobby) Barnette, Mary Ruth (Willis) Stollings, one son George "Shorty" (Karen) Ward, 5 grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Carter, Bob (Ashleigh) Barnette, Ben (Sheena) Barnette, Julie (Joe) Fowler, Darren (Mary Ann) Neil and nine great grandchildren Shana Hall, Hunter, Abi and Jaxon Neil, Chandler Duncan, Josh Carter, Hannah Fowler and Heidi and Mollie Barnette. One brother O'Dell (Magalene) Stone, one sister Shirley (Dave) McClay, two very special sitr-in-laws Patty Williams and Rose Stone and a host of other family and friends. Services were held on Monday August 22, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the No. 7 Holden Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor John R. Spears officiating. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation began two hours before the service at the church. Pallbearers were George (Shorty) Ward, Bob and Ben Barnette, Darren Neil, Kevin Stone, Bobby Adkins, Eddie BLevins and Jason Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Denny Toler, Marcus Conley, Isreal Chafin, Ransom Chafin, Ronnie, Danny, Jimmy, Jerry Roger Barnette, Danny Collins, Mike Kimler and Arlie Bush Jr. Online condolences may be sent to www.jamesfh.com James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge
