Lottie Canterbury, 80 of Dingess, WV went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 17, 2022, at her residence.
She was born September 4, 1941, at Dingess, WV to the late Josie Mullins Dingess and Alfred Dingess. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Bud” Canterbury; sons, William “Bill” Canterbury, and Marion “Junebug” Canterbury Jr.; 1 great-grandbaby; brother, Arthur Dingess; son-in-law, Ray Setser; maternal grandparents Eliza and Peter Mullins; paternal grandparents, Will and Stella Dingess; mother and father in-law, Mariah, and Tan Canterbury.
Lottie was a member of the Mudfork FWB Church.
Survivors include daughters, Kelsie (Jimmy Darrell) Newsome, Ella (John) Dorgan, Sadie (Junebug) Vance, and Pat Setser; grandchildren, Christina (Jonathan) Sparks, Candita (Jeremy) Crabtree, Montana Canterbury, Sherman (Maddison) Vance Jr. III, Lottie Vance (Nick Medina), Samantha Dorgan; great-grandchildren, Cooper Sparks, Maddox Baisden, Lennox Canterbury, Nick Medina Jr., Kamarie Medina, Sherman Vance Jr. IV, Carlee Vance, Isaiah Crabtree, Israel Crabtree, Ian Crabtree, Isaac Crabtree, Irelyn Crabtree, Ielan Crabtree; brother, Roy Dingess; Charlie Porter, who she claimed as a brother; 2 very special friends, Lana McCloud, who she called sister for many years, and Gloria Vance, who she loved dearly. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Mudfork FWB Church with Pastor Elbert Collins Jr., David McCloud, and Jimmy Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Canterbury Family Cemetery at Dingess, WV. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, with church services beginning at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jimbo Romans, Jonathan Sparks, Nick Medina, Sherman Vance Jr., Jeremy Crabtree, and Little Nick Jr.
