Loretta Muncey

​Loretta P. Muncey, 80yrs, of Shamrock passed on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Dignity Hospice House of Chapmanville. ​Born July 12th 1937 at Amigo, West Virginia to Edward and Beatrice Young. She was a very compassionate nurse who did tenure at Guyan Valley Hospital of Logan, West Virginia and at several nursing homes in Ohio. ​In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, and by her husband of many years, George W. Muncey. ​Survivors are one brother, Bob Young, and one sister, Peggy Sparks, one son George “David” Muncey and a daughter Judith (Don) Wooten. Grandchildren are Christopher Muncey, Shaun (Mary) Clay, Joshua (Tiffany) Clay, Taylor “Cady” Muncey, and Alex Wooten, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones. ​Visitation will be Monday, July 31st from 6pm-9pm and services will be Tuesday, August 1st at noon at Akers-James funeral home at Aracoma. ​Rev. Nick Adams and Rev. Rick Prichard will be officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
