Lilly Ann (Kinser) Jessie was born on October 15, 1958 and met face to face with Jesus on June 19, 2025. Lilly was married to the love of her life, Willis Jessie, for over 50 years. Lilly was the mother of Elaine (Jessie) Adkins and Jonathan Jessie.
Lilly devoted her life to taking care of other people. Lilly worked as a dedicated BSN at Trinity Healthcare Center of Logan for over 37 years where she went on to become the Director of Nursing. Lilly loved her work, and thought of her coworkers as her extended family. Every single person who worked under Lilly was deeply loved by her.
Lilly was a member of Wilkinson Community Church. Lilly’s love for Christ was evident in the way that she spoke of her certainty in her eternal home. When talking to people in her last days, Lilly would tell them with confidence, “I have a better place to go.” We are more than sure that we will see her smiling to greet us when we meet her at Heaven’s gates.
Lilly is survived by her 4 grandchildren (Jarrett (Sadie) Adkins, Jazmyn Jessie, Jozlyn Jessie, and Aaliyah Jessie) and 1 great grandchild arriving in November (Brooks Adkins), her two children (Elaine (Willard) Adkins and Jonathan (Danielle) Jessie), 1 sister (Dana (Terri) Obugene), 3 brothers (Charles (Bernetta) Kinser, Tommy (Randy) (Tammy) Kinser, and Bill (Billie) Kinser), her close family friend (Roger Buck), her mother Lilly Kinser, and the love of her life, her husband, Willis Jessie.
She is preceded in death by her son-in-law (Willard (Tub) Adkins), her sister-in-law (Bernetta Kinser), her sister (Sue Kinser), and her father (Tommy Kinser).
Lilly spent her days gardening with her husband Willis. She was always up for a last minute vacation and was ready to travel at the drop of a hat. Lilly loved attending church and praising Jesus. You could often find Lilly sitting on the porch with her husband enjoying the sunshine, or watching the storms roll through. More than she loved participating in any of these activities, Lilly loved to work. She looked forward to going in to her job and seeing the faces of her coworkers and patients every single day.
While we know that Lilly is worshipping at the feet of Jesus, free of pain, and full of Joy. We will miss her earthly presence until we see her again in Heaven.
