Lillie Bell Gillman

December 22, 1929 — October 25, 2021

Lillie Bell (Evans) Gillman, 91 of Whitman, formerly of Marrowbone Creek, gained her Heavenly reward Monday, October 25, 2021, from home.



She was born December 22, 1929, at Laurel Creek to the late William H. and Gladys (McQuire) Evans. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Gillman; daughters, Wilma Lucas, and Elsie Collins; son, Kenneth Lee Adkins; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Adkins; son-in-law, Robert Meade; grandchildren, Mark Collins, and Kenny Adkins Jr.; great-granddaughter, Haley Adkins; and sisters, Agnes Cline, Victoria York, and Bonnie Elliott.



Lillie loved to decorate and took great pride in making her home beautiful. She was a former employee of Marrowbone Development Company. Lillie was a member of the Parsley Bottom FWB Church.



Those left to cherish her loving memory include her daughter, Viola Meade of Whitman, with whom she made her home; sons, Dennis (Kathy) Adkins of Madison, Donald (Devauna) Adkins of Lexington, KY, and Gary (Deidra) Adkins of Delbarton; daughter-in-law, Tammy Adkins of Logan; sons-in-law, Dave Collins of Holden, and Danny Lucas of Lenore; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Bourne of Chapmanville; brother, Freeland (Kay) Evans of Williamson; and a host of family and friends.



The family would like to thank Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville for their loving care of Lillie. A very special thank you to her great-granddaughters, Kacie “That Girl” Kitchen, and Suzannah “Sunshine” Meade for their daily love and care for Lillie Cat.



Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 12 p.m. at Parsley Bottom FWB Church in Lenore with Pastor Wayne Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillman Family Cemetery at Marrowbone Creek. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday at the church.



Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
