It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kenneth Tomblin, 82, a great husband, father, brother, and papaw. He was a light in our lives, he was kind, loving, and was always ready with a smile and a helping hand.
He was born February 14, 1943, to the late Verchie (Sargent) and Earl Tomblin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Irene (Jones) Tomblin; son, Kenneth Gordon Tomblin Jr; granddaughter, Brittany Lynn Tomblin; brothers, Sonny, Olsen, Auddie, Hobert, Ernie, Ward, James, Vernon, Earl Jr., and Eugene; sisters, Barbara, Wanda, Torene, Holene, Revil, Lucinda, and Mary Lou.
He is survived by his son, Johnnie Ray Tomblin; daughters, Madesia Lynn (Nem) Vance, and Robin (Mike) Olshewski; sister, Ramon (Elzalee) Jarrells; grandchildren, Tasha (Joel) Chaver, Eric Vance, Kelly (Oscar) Rea, Kayla (Seth) Clark, Hailey (Shawn) Horn, Brandon Nelson, Kristen Olshewski, Sharmane Olshewski, Michael Olshewski Jr., Cody Tomblin, and Sunshine Brumfield; great-grandchildren, Karla, EJ, Andres, Jesus, Liam, Emmanuel, Deysi, Haiden, Laura, Ryker, Kayley, Kia, Kaylynn, Jade, Branded, Hayden, Kaebriona, and Raelyn, and daughter-in-law, Angel Tomblin. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, with Rev. Sid Moore officiating. Honoring his wishes his remains will be cremated following the services. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
