Joyce Pennington, 82, of Lake, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at her home.
Born September 12, 1935 in Mingo County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel Murphy Coley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jennings Damron Jr.; one granddaughter, Anna Gill; several brothers and sisters; and her husband, James Pennington.
Joyce was a loving mother and grandmother who was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Debbie (Randy) Gill of Lake; two brothers: Dan Coley of Richmond, Virginia and Roger Coley of Fargo, North Dakota; two sisters: Sue (Ray) Locklear of Warren, Michigan and Lou (Fred) Hutchinson of Russell, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Randy (Shanna) Clemens Jr. of Cherry Tree, Erica (Davey) McCoy of Mud Fork and Andy Gill of Lake; great-grandchildren: Kayla, Allysun, Destani, Trenedy, Piper, Payne, and Phoenix; a special friend, Juanita Ellis Damron of Logan, who was like her sister; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy at Pine St. in Logan with Pastor Elbert Johnson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Godby. Friends may gather at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015.
