Johnny Yacomino

Johnny Yacomino, 85 of Holden, WV departed this life October 12, 2023, at his residence with his loving wife and son by his side.

He was born February 28, 1938, to the late Theresa (Varacalli) Yacomino and Lugi “Louie” Yacomino. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Mullins; sons, Johnny Yacomino, and Louis Yacomino; and stepson, William Nelson.

Johnny was very patriotic and a very proud veteran of the US Navy. He graduated from Logan High School in 1957, and he was the oldest member of the Post 19 American Legion.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Susan (Nelson) Yacomino; son, Johnathon Yacomino, daughter, Theresa Jean Yacomino (Micha); stepdaughters, Katherine Saylor (Chris Branham), and Victoria Nelson (Hank Atwell); granddaughters, Brittany Jones (Brian), Devin Feasel (Michael), Maiya Branham, and Gracelynn Atwell; grandsons, Louis Yacomino (Abby), Colton Saylor, Dean Branham, Levi Saylor, Lincoln Branham, and Gracen Atwell; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Logan, Julian, Ethan, Cameron, and the first babygirl expected in December; sisters, Francis Vance, and Cathy Spradling; father and mother-in-law, Ransom and Delores Wolford, and a host of family and friends. Thank you to everyone, including friends, neighbors, and anyone who had a hand in caring for Johnny.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Chris Varacalli officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. In memory of Johnny the family request everyone wear red, white, and blue.
