John Tooley

John Tooley 74 a lifetime resident of Rum Creek went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday August 2, 2009 at Logan Regional Medical Center. John was the son of the late James J. and Virgie Brunty Tooley. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a daughter Stella Denise Tooley, Two Brothers Fred and Donald Ray Tooley, Three Sisters Glenna Cline, Velma Noe, Freda Murry and Father-in-law Dave Carver. John gave his life to the Lord in 1995 and was baptised at First Baptist Church of McConnell by Pastor John Godby and Brother John McClung. He attended Bethel Chapel at Orville and he also helped establish the Bethel Chapel and loved working in the Church.He was also a coal miner for over 30 years. A National Guardsman for over 35 years. John loved life, his family and his favorite little league team. Those loved ones left behind are his wife of 48 years Antha Carver Tooley, a Daughter Johnnie Lynn (Al) Minnick, James David (Yvonna) Tooley, 5 Grandchildren Brandon Michael Browning, Z Minnick, Nathanael (Nate) James-David Tooley, Carrey Yvonne Tooley and Jamie Dionne Tooley, Step Granddaughters Kristy (Freddie) Edwards, Ashley Minnick, Rosa and Dominique Elmore, Melissa Browning and Great Granddaughter Michayla Jon, Sisters Dee Dee (Dick) Loveday, Mousey (Roger) Owsley, Patricia Dale Whitt, Brothers Larry (Pam) Tooley, Gary (Cora) Tooley, Many Nieces and Nephews, Mother-in-law Cordia Carver, Brothers and Sister-in-laws Barbara and Carl Gibson, John and Toni Carver, Dexter and Doris Carver, Dennie and Jenny Carver, Dennis and Jill Carver. Very special people in his life life Dave Collins, Dallas Hylton and special friends Teddy and Gail Coleman. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday August 6, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at the Bethel Chapel at Orville with Pastor Keith McClung, Brother John Godby and Brother Arnold Adams. Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Wednesday August 5, 2009 at the Bethel Chapel Church. Burial will follow in the Chambers Cemetery at Cham with Military Graveside Services. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandsons Nate Tooley and Z Minnick and Logan Little League 11 and 12 year old all stars Z Minnick, Trevor Browning, Chase Preston, Nick Christian, Brenton Vance, Connor Akers, Bobbie Messer, Josh Wallen, Hunter Nelson, Skylar Miller, Cameron Sammons, Zac Acord and Brandon Browning. I am greatly saddened to hear about the loss of John. He was such a great and caring person and could always make me laugh. He was definitely one of those people that I never forgot after leaving the Logan area. I worked for Harry Fortner, M.D. for many years and John was one of those special people who touched everyone. Your family will be in my prayers.

as a fellow rum creeker for the early part of my life i had the pleasure of knowing john as one of faye whites boys who use to hitchhike to logan alot john would pick you up if he was going that way. i also know that my mom rode to logan to work with atha for anumber of years john was a good guy to all us boys on the creek. i am so sorry for your loss.fayes boy gary LHS class of 72
