John B. Maynard, 82, of Dingess passed away Monday November 6, 2006 at his son's residence in Harts. Born September 27, 1924 he was a son of the late Albert and Peggy Taylor Maynard. Also preceding him in death was his three brothers, Ray, Roland and Ken Maynard. One sister, Hazel. Also preceding him in death was a son, Butch Dillion. Mr. Maynard was also preceded in death by Meldia Spry, Kathy Browning and Rebecca Dillion Maynard. Mr. Maynard retired from the Island Creek Coal Co. of 30 years. He was also of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his two sons; Lucian (Sally) Maynard of Harts and Roger (Elanor) Maynard of Princeton. His daughters; Della Mae (B.F.) Meade of Princeton, Patricia "Jewell" of Princeton, Shavone (Randy) Morgan of Florida, Janet Ruth (Mark) Duncan of Princeton, Sandy (Bill) Bush of Huntington and Birdie (Bill) Newsome of Dingess. Other survivors include Terry (Joetta) Dillion of Laurel Creek and Larry (Pat) Dillion of East-Fork. Three sisters; Frankie Williams, Martha Mae "Ricky" Collins, and Blanche Shepperd. Two brothers; Ernest "E.G." Maynard and William "Bill" Maynard. Thirty-One grandchildren, and Twent-Nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are several nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Friday November 10, 2006 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M at James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 11, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at James Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Vance Cemetery at Dingess. Condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com. James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of the arrangements.
