John B. Marcum Sr. 80 1/2 of Lenore/Dingess was born July 27, 1930 at Stepptown, WV passed away Monday February 7, 2011 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was a retired Security Officer for Marrowbone Development former owner of the Space Age Club. He was a veteran of the Korean War (Marines). He was married to Carol Sue Bryant Marcum for 47 years. Preceding him in death was his wife Carol Sue Bryant Marcum, father Charlie Marcum, his mother Emma Horn Marcum, brothers Flem, Patrick, Owen, Walter, Laffette and Harrison, sisters Mary, Beatrice, and Edith, daughter Judith and her daughter Tonya, granddaughters Josephine and Kathleen, two grandsons Matthew and Mark. Survivors include four daughters Tammy and Franklin Waller of Fort Gay, WV, Daphne McNeely and Melvin of Dingess, WV, Cathy Jo Alexander of Georgia and Charrie Hayward of Tacoma, Washington, four sons John B. Marcum Jr. of Dingess, WV, Emory Lee Marcum of Lenore, WV, Patrick Marcum of Lenore, WV and Clayton Derek Marcum of Ohio, five granddaughters Valarie and Chris Copley of Delbarton, Carolann Caudell and Seth of Charleston, Donica McNeely of Dingess/Lenore, Melody Hood of Georgia, Kristil Cook of Washington State, six grandsons Ricky and Randi Dials of Warfield, Ky., Emory and Jennifer Marcum of Chattaroy, Stephen and Alex of Lenore, Matthew Hall of Ohio, Jimmy Ed Urech of Georgia and John of Georgia, 30 Step Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, 17 Step Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren a host of neices, nephews, cousins, In laws, friends and a very special bird CoCo. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday February 11, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church at Lenore with Rev. Curtis Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Lenore Memorial Gardens at Lenore. Visitation will be for family from 4-6 P.M. and from 6-12 P.M. for the public at the church.
