Jessica Norman

Jessica Mae Dingess Norman, 87 of Crooked Creek passed away on April 24, 2024, at Trinity Health Care of Logan.

She was born in Logan County on February 23, 1937, to the late Frenchie and Ernestine Whitman Dingess Beckett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Bat” Norman; infant daughter, Brenda; twin brother, Jackie, and sisters, Lois, Audrey, Uta, and Mary.

Jessica was a faithful member of the Mt. Carmel FWB Church at City View. She was a homemaker who loved doing crafts, listening to gospel music, working in church functions, and most of all holding and loving children.

She is survived by her sons, Jack (Helen) Norman of Lower Salem, OH, and Toney (Pam) Norman of Holden; sister-in-law, Eleanor Norman of Spencer; cousin and best friends, Mary Moore of Crooked Creek; eight grandchildren, Derek (Logan) Norman, Ryan (Courtney) Norman, Jackson Norman, Chelsalyn Miller, Mikala Cantrell, TJ Norman, Krysten Norman, James (Amelia) Bradshaw, and Neil (Rebecca) Wilson. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to thank the employees of Trinity Health Care of Logan, Healthy Habits Wellness Center, and Logan Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care of Jessie.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2023, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Vance and Rev. Ryan Norman officiating. Honoring her wishes, her remains will be cremated following the services and interred in Roane County, WV beside her baby daughter, and husband at a later date. Friends may call one hour before the services, on Sunday at the funeral home.
