Jackie Haswell England, 92, husband of the late Betty Sue Hurley England, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born November 2, 1929, in Hinton, West Virginia to the late Dewey & Pearl Adkins England, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and spent his career working in the tool & die industry. He married the love of his life, Betty Sue, on May 9, 1953. Jackie was a kind, peaceful, hard-working man who was devoted to his family and enjoyed playing music.
Surviving are a son, Thomas J. (Martha) England, of Cynthiana; 3 daughters: Connie Sue England, of Cynthiana, Terri L. (David) Crigger, of Bluefield, West Virginia, & Norma Jo (Richard) Phillips, of Cynthiana; 3 brothers: Gene England, of Capels, West Virginia, Roger England, of Richmond, Virginia, & Dewey England, Jr., of Ft. Gay, West Virginia; a sister, Sedona “Seda” Wilhite, of Ft. Gay, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces & nephews.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, Owen England, and 2 grandsons.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 11, 2022, at Akers-James Funeral Home in Logan, West Virginia by Bro. Audie Murphy. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Monday until the time of service.
