Hurston Lee Pritchard 60 of Logan departed this life on Thursday August 5, 2010 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born February 14, 1950 at Chapmanville. He was the son of Dorothy Jeffrey Pritcahrd and the late Robert Pritchard. Also preceding him in death was his very special companion Lloyd Goble. Hurston was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Church of God of Prophecy faith. He was employed at Golden Coral in Portsmouth, Ohio for many years. Hurston also enjoyed volunteering regularly at the Logan Presbyterian Church food pantry and helping his friends and family in any way he could. Survivors include his mother Dorothy Pritchard of LOgan, four brothers Cletis Pritchard of Wilkinson, Troy (Bobbie) Pritchard of Taylor, Michigan, Jerry Pritchard of Trenton, Michigan and Sonny (Laura) Pritchard of Proctorville, Ohio, three sisters Barbara Browning of Logan, Linda (Jerry) Griffith of Logan and Alma Gail Starkey of St. Petersburg, Florida, two special cousins Janet Craft of Logan and Lohoma Gray of Columbus, Ohio, his very special friends Lillian Tomblin and Patsy Robinson, his very special dog Janice and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday August 9, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church of God of Prophecy on Pine St. in Logan. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum with military graveside serbvices.Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Sunday August 8, 2010 at the Church. Pallbearers will be Sonny Pritchard, Cletis Pritchard, Jerry Pritchard, Cletis Pritchard, Jr., Charles Pritchard, Trey Pritchard and Jerry Griffith.
