Howard Workman, 99 of Verdunville departed this life Tuesday June 21, 2016 at his residence.
He was born February 12, 1917 in Dingess, WV to the late Isaac Workman and Shirley Collins Workman. In addition to his parents he also preceded in death by: his wives, Marie Workman and Joy Mullins Workman; brothers, Therman, Clarence, Lewis, and Paul Workman; sisters, Violet, Thelma, Myrtle, and Marie (Midge); grandson, Donnie Workman; and granddaughter DeeDee Noble.
Mr. Workman served in CC Camp, was a coal miner for Island Creek Coal Company and was also employed by Fleetwing in Cleveland, OH. Howard was also a member of the Marietta United Baptist Church at Verdunville.
Those left to cherish his memory include: daughters, Juanita Kiss of Ohio, Millie (Paul) Daurm of Ohio; son, Donald (Janice) Workman of Ohio; brother, Taylor (Frankie) Workman of Ohio; sister, Alica (Charles) Hopkins; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday June 26, 2016 at the Maryetta United Baptist Church at Verdunville with Rev. Lonnie Gore officiating. Burial will follow in the Frye Cemetery at Verdunville. Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Saturday June 25 also at the church.
