Hazel Conley

Hazel Conley, 87 of Logan, WV went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Hazel was born June 2, 1935, in Kentucky to the late George Blankenship and Dolly Prater. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Francis Conley; daughters, Debbie White, and JoAnn Mullins; and James E. Johnson.

Hazel was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Logan. She retired from the Logan County Courthouse after 25 years of service where she found joy in cooking and feeding her work family. Hazel was a friend to everyone. She was very creative and strong willed. She cherished the time she spent with her family and enjoyed telling stories about the “Good Ole Days”. Her great-grandsons Lukas and Kruz were the apples of her eye.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Brenda (Randall) Sizemore of Logan; her sons, Ronald Conley of Logan, Eugene “Bud” Johnson of Jackson, OH, and Joe Blankenship of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be the Logan City Fire Department and the funeral procession will be escorted by Sheriff P.D. Clemens and the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
