Haskell was born in Logan, West Virginia to the late Ethel Fuller Kazee Stafford and late Bill Kazee on December 22, 1942 at home. He was a preemie but never went to the hospital, he was a fighter and strong. As his niece Dana puts it; "He was the Super Man Uncle, he was made of steel". His father passed when he was very young but he had the most amazing stepfather in the world the late Lonnie Stafford. Haskell was always a worker even as a teenager and no job was ever too hard for Haskell to do. He had many jobs but his career as a mechanic on coal tipples was his favorite and he loved to talk about it even after he retired. Haskell was active in church organizations and activities and was a member of the West Logan Church of God for 45 years of his life. Other activities he loved were fishing, hunting, and all sports especially basketball. Haskell had a generous heart and was always giving to others. He made sure his children and grandchildren valued an education and worked to their best potential.
Haskell was preceded in death by his parents Bill Kazee, Ethel Stafford, and Lonnie Stafford. His wife Constance Sue Campbell Kazee. His brothers Cecil Kazee, June Kazee, Loyal Kazee, Fred Kazee, and Arnold Kazee. His sisters Diane Sipple, and Helen Dotson and many extended family members he genuinely loved.
Haskell is survived by his daughters Helen Kazee of Danville, West Virginia and Belinda Kazee Wolford of Wilkinson, West Virginia. His fiancee Sandra White of Chapmanville, West Virginia and her son, daughters, son and laws, and grandchildren were his extended family.
