Haskel Marcum, 75 of Dingess, WV went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep on December 23, 2012.
He was a retired coal miner, assistant Pastor of Jennies Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Jennies Creek, WV, and former Pastor at The Zion Church in Breeden, WV.
He was the last surviving child born to the late Charlie and Emma (Horn) Marcum, November 12, 1937 in Wayne County, WV. He was also preceded in death by seven brother, three sisters, and grandson Branden Lee Watts.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his loving wife of 56 years, Mary E. (Messer) Marcum of Dingess, WV; sons, Billy (Connie Frances) Marcum of Williamson, WV, Dwayne (Chrissy Lou) Marcum and Toma (Crystal) Marcum both of Dingess, WV; daughters, Deborah (Dennis) Workman and Connie (Randy) Watts both of Dingess, WV; grandchildren, Jason Watts, Dennis Lee Workman, Lance Marcum, Aaron Marcum, and Toma (TJ) Marcum Jr. all of Dingess, WV, Samitha (Tristan) Morgan of Switzer, WV; great-grandchildren, Alex, Matthew, and Megan Watts all of Dingess, WV and his church family.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at The Zion Church in Breeden, WV with Pastor Curtis White and Brother Homer Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery at Breeden, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Thursday December 27, 2012 also at the church with special services at 7 p.m.
