Harvey Edward Carter, 70, of Verdunville departed this life Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Cornerstone Hospital of Huntington.
Born April 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Ed and Amanda Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Breanna Carter and one brother Cole Gene Carter.
Harvey was a retired coal minter and enjoying nature, gardening, and was an active volunteer at Trinity Healthcare Services. He was a 1963 graduate of Chapmanville High School.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Donnretta Carter; one daughter, Andrea (Keifer) Carter Tomblin; a special pet, Peach; two brothers: Paul Carter of Bracey, Virginia and Dennis Carter of Verdunville; his special sister-in-law, Dosha Carter of Verdunville; and a host of other dear family and friends.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at James Funeral Home in Logan with Rev. Elbert Collins Jr. and Rev. David McCloud officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill. Harvey will be carried to rest by Roger and Brandon Adkins, Joe Carter, Rupert Smith, Glenn Tomblin, and Pete Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Frye and Keifer Tomblin. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
