Gregory Allen Cook

Gregory Allen Cook of Hewett, WV, born August 8, 1979, passed away at home unexpectedly on September 21, 2026. He served in the U.S Marine Corps for 5 years. He also worked in the oil and gas industry for several years in Lewis County. The last ten years he was a coalminer. He had a passion for being in the mountains and riding his side by side. He loved working on vehicles and ATVs. He absolutely loved his family more than anything. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Janice Cook; maternal grandparents, Charles and Pauline Wooten.

He is survived by one son, Zachary Cook (Katlyn) of Des Moines, Iowa; daughters, Katelyn (Caden), and Carly Cook of Chapmanville, WV; one granddaughter, Havery Ramey; mother, Theresa Perry (Jack); father, Danny L. Cook (Heather); sisters, Lisa Johnson (Jason) of Akron, OH; Tiffany Rafferty (Phillip) of Clothier, WV; Bobbi Moneypenny (Brian) of Fairmont, WV; brothers, Lee Cook of Weston, WV; Shelby Paleth of FL; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at James Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Bailey officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Memory Gardens at Danville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday, at the funeral home.
