Sister Geneva F. Williamson Gore of Holden, WV departed this life on Saturday June 26, 2010 at the residence of her son Rev. Lonnie Gore Jr. with her family in attendance at her bedside and went home to be with the Lord. Sister Geneva was 86 years old at the time of her departure. She was born into this life on December 13, 1923 to the late Aley and Rebecca Conn Williamson of No.22 Holden. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Lonnie Gore Sr., her daughter Sandra K. Gore Ramey, four brothers Grady, Howard, Luther and Volley Williamson and one sister Ilene Williamson Southers. Sister Geneva was a homemaker and a very faithful member for over 45 years of the Central United Baptist Church. She loved her church family and all her neighbors at No. 21 Holden. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her only son Rev. Lonnie Gore Jr. and wife Margaret Brescoach Gore of Whitman, WV with whom she made her home, one sister Palmetta Kretzer of Jasper, Alabama, her two grandsons Bart (Lois) Gore, Bret (Angie) Gore all of Whitman, WV, her two granddaughters Rebecca (Phillip) Bannister of Whitman, WV, Melissa (Darrell) Maynard of Dingess, WV, 9 great grandchildren Lindsey, Aley, Emily and Alex Gore, Grace, Faith and Hope Bannister all of Whitman, WV, Eric and Dara Maynard of Dingess, WV, two very special relatives Lettie Brescoach and Pamela Conley who helped so much to alleviate the suffering, pain and afflictions in her last days and a host of other nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday June 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Central United Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn White, Rev. Barney Goins and Brother Bill Wooten III officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Monday June 28, 2010 at the Church. Active pallbearers will be David "Toby" Toney, Melvin Meade, Johnny Gross, Cass Trent, Donsil Mullins Jr. and Robbie Long. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Central and Maryetta United Baptist Churches.
