Dingess, WV
Gary Lee Wellman, 89 of Dingess, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on February 29th, 2024, at Charleston Area Medical Center, due to a long illness.
He was born June 12, 1934, to the late Hugh and Della Wellman of Dingess. Gary was 1 of 9 children.
Gary was a U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from self-employment as a carpenter/aluminum salesman/installer. He enjoyed traveling, attending blue grass festivals, and lincoln town cars.
He is survived by his caregiver Sally Maynard, and a host of nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Wellman Family Cemetery.
