Evelyn Cox

Evelyn Cox, 83, of Whitman, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born on April 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Rose Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Kelly; second husband, Carlos Cox; one son, Paul Ray Kelley Jr.; five brothers; and two sisters. Evelyn was a member of the Church of God of Whitman for over 70 years. Those left to cherish her memory include: one son, Danny Kelly; one daughter, Donna Kelly; one sister, Mable Talbert of Florida; five grandchildren: Kristi (Jamie) Kelly Blankenship, Laura (Josh) Bowe, Chad Kelly, Steven Kelly, and Vivian Amburgey; three great-grandchildren: Presley Blankenship, Jade Blankenship, and Gabrielle Kelly; a special friend, Della Hobie; and host of nieces, nephews, and other family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill.
