Eula Hatfield

d. January 23, 2018

Our Queenie and Mama Chick, Eula Lee Hatfield (Lukacs), age 82, of Holden, West Virginia, went Home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was surrounded by loved ones when she departed on her incredible journey and her transition from this life to her eternal life was peaceful. Eula was born June 16, 1935 in Wilsondale, WV to loving parents Harmon and Florence Frye. She spent her childhood roaming the roads of southern WV with her seven siblings and growing into the vibrant and energetic woman we knew and loved. In 1959 Eula married her King, Albert (Boogie) Lukacs. They were married for 31 years and had six children. Several years after Boogie went Home to be with our Lord and Savior, Eula was blessed to meet her Papa Chick, Bill Hatfield. They were married in 1995 and he remained her sweetheart until she departed this life. In addition to Bill, those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Gary Frye of Holden and Buck (Sandy) Lukacs of Mount Gay; three daughters Dee Sidebottom of Williamson, Sharon (Bill) Robinette of West Logan and Kim (Kevin) Ballard of Logan; seven grandchildren Kristi Sidebottom of Charleston, SC, Shanon (Jimmy) Sheppard of West Logan, Sarah (Chris) Roberts of Savannah, GA, Mandy (Dustin) Robinette of Hurricane, Josh (Taylor) Lukacs of Mitchell Heights, Kayla Frye of Verdunville and Jill Ballard of Logan; one special step-son Billy Lee (Pam) Hatfield of Gilbert; seven great grandchildren Corey, Sadie, Whitney, Waylon, Gionna, Bella and Margaux; one sister Joyce (Bob) Cantley of Portage, MI; one brother Dallas (Rebecca) Frye of Verdunville; loved nephews, nieces, cousins and step-children; and a host of wonderful friends. Loved ones who’ve journeyed on before her are her parents Harmon and Florence Frye; her first husband Boogie Lukacs, one son Joseph Lukacs; one granddaughter Harmony Frye, one great-grandson Willie Ball; four brothers Harmon (Jr) Frye, Bernie Frye, Garland (Fisher) Frye, and Glen Frye; one sister Freda Tomblin; one special cousin Thelma Garris; and other dear extended family members, neighbors and friends. Eula enjoyed worshiping Jesus, spending time with family, shopping and staying on the go. She collected family photos and lots of hugs and kisses from loved ones. She was known for her comical sayings and feisty personality. She was truly one of a kind and she will be greatly missed. We will celebrate her life at 12 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Akers James Funeral Home in Logan. Visitation will be held from 11am-12pm. Burial will follow at Frye Cemetery in Mud Fork. Pastor Jonas Trent will officiate and special family and friends will provide music and serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com Akers-James Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
