Dorothy Pritchard

Dorothy Madeline Pritchard, 89, of Logan departed this life on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born October 3, 1924, at Fort Gay, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ned and Charles Jeffrey. Also preceding her in death were her husband of more than fifty years, Robert Pritchard; two sons, Hurston Pritchard and Jerry Pritchard; one daughter, Alma Gail Starkey; five sisters, Marie Searles, Ruth Carter, Helen Davis, Kathleen Jeffrey, and Unice Jeffrey; four brothers, Luther Jeffrey, Dempsey Jeffrey, Junior Jeffrey, and Harry Jeffrey; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Logan and was employed for many years as a nursing assistant at Holden Hospital. She was always full of life and loved serving the Lord, spending time with and celebrating holidays with her very large family, and attending the annual Dehue Community Reunion. She particularly loved Christmas, which she always made sure was a big event at her home. She will be deeply missed by her entire family. Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Troy (Bobbie) Pritchard of Michigan, Cletis (Barb) Pritchard of Logan, and Sonny (Laura) Pritchard of Ohio; two daughters, Barbara Browning of Logan and Linda (Jerry) Griffith of Logan; twenty-five grandchildren; and host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and church family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy on Pine St. in Logan with the Rev. John Godby and Rev. Dale Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside of her husband. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
