Doris Marie Riddle 85 of Mud Fork, West Virginia went hometo be with the Lord she loved so much on Friday, January 20, 2023 after a long illness.
Doris was born at Holden on July 19, 1937, to the late Charles Samuel “C.S.” Frye and Emmazett Ramey Frye. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Lawrence W. Riddle; sisters Delcie L. Frye Stephens Lighthall and Darlene “Cricket” Frye Curton Hartwick; brothers Kelly Frye and Vester Dallas Frye.
Doris graduated from Logan High School in 1955 and was a member of #20 Whitman Community Church. She was a Brownie Troop Leader at Verdunville, West Virginia in the 1960’s, she was employed by the G.C. Murphy Company for several years. She was the first female United Parcel Service (UPS) Package Delivery Driver in southern West Virginia. She was a former volunteer for the Logan Regional Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary. Doris was quite witty and had a great sense of humor but could be tough when such situations arose. She was an avid reader and an Elvis Presley fan. Like her mother, she simply adored her entire family.
In addition to her daughter Sheila R. Riddle of Mud Fork, othersleft to cherish her memory are; nephews: Dallas D. (Katy)Stephens and Paul Alan (Peggy) Stephens, both of Michigan; Charles D. “Chuck” (Kelly) Curton of Tennessee; niece: Sherry L. (Mike) Lighthall Chappel Sandlin of Florida; very special cousin Claudia L. Elkins Ellis; a number of other cousins she loved dearly; and her fur babies: Saffron, Summer, Anise, Ginger, Gray, Jasmine, Macy, and Shadow.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Highland Memory Gardens with Rev. Joaquine D.Ooten and Rev. H. Thomas Chafin officiating.
