Donna Jean Collins Thompson

Donna Jean (Collins) Thompson, 73 of Logan, WV departed this life Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born July 29, 1947, in Logan, WV. She will be reunited with her parents, the late Don and Sonia Collins; her brother to whom she was very close, Clarence “Earl” Collins. She is survived by her husband, Larry E. Thompson of Logan; her son, Larry E. “Eugie” Thompson; grandchildren, Hannah Thompson, and grandson, Cole Thompson. Donna loved crocheting, cooking, and baking. She was the matriarch of her family. Donna was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry and made over 300 prayer shawls for nursing homes, hospice patients, and people in need of prayer. She was of the Christian faith and will be dearly missed by her husband, son, grandchildren, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2021, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
