Donna L. Curry

Donna Lou Hipshire Curry, 84 of Switzer departed this life to enter Heavenly home on February 18 2018 at LRMC. She was born March 9 1933 at Rum Creek the daughter of the late Harry and Geraldine Chambers. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her Children Lee Hipshire Sr and her second loving husband Donald Curry, her son Harry Hipshire, grandsons Charles Hipshire, Jerry Frye II, and Mark Dowden II. Daughter in law Linda Hipshire, son in law Mark Dowden, brother Bud Chambers and sisters, Dorthy Young, Thelma Moulton, and Betty Jo Delong. Donna Lou was loved by all who knew her. She had a loving smile for everyone. She was a faithful member of the Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She was retired postmaster for the US Postal Service with 42 years of service. She was the precious mother of Barbara (Wendell) Ooten, Ronald (Connie) Hipshire, Kay (Jerry) Frye, Lee (Tammy) Hipshire, and Lisa (Larry) Ellison. Her step children Diana (William) Napier, Tammy(Kevin) Smith, and Freddy(Cheryl) Curry. She was mamaw to Willie(Teresa) Ooten, Crystal Frye, Brandon Frye, Kelli(Joshua) Vance, Christopher Hipshire, Anthony Hipshire, Samantha Hipshire, Kara (Jamie) Hainer, Kortni (Justin) Nelson, Stephanie(Richard) Hathcock, Gabriela Smith, Chasity Watson , Jennifer Sells, Caleb, Josh, and Sierra Curry, Ashley Wales, and Brandon Deem. Her great grandchildren who brought her so much joy. Madyson and Makenna Ooten, Ronnie Frye, Michael Russell, Jaida Frye, Lilly Frye, Abigail Hipshire, Taylor, Baylee, and Macy Vance, Ryder Frye, Isabella Coffman, Jase Hainer, Marlie Nelson, Anthony , Mekhi and Malick Watson, Logan, Abigail, Alex, and Kaitlyn Wales Her siblings. Grover and Bernice Chambers, Alice Price, Gerri and Gary Ball, Gary and Cora Tooley, and her sister and brother in law Oral and Nadine Castle. Services will be conducted Thursday February 22 2018 at 11:00 am with visitation February 21 2018 from 6-9 pm. Burial will follow in Chambers cemetery in Rum Creek.
